Dr. Edward Polackoff
Founder
In 1939, Dr. Edward Polackoff, a successful optometrist in private practice, turned his extensive knowledge of optics to the manufacture of precision lens systems. He invented and patented the first telescopic lens system for people with sub normal vision. In addition he also perfected a number of techniques that maintain the highest standards of quality in lens fabrication. Dr. Polackoffs drive for perfection and his insistence on meticulous quality control established the Republic Lens Companys reputation for outstanding performance and precision.
